Plaid Cymru litter pickers put their words into action

 

Plaid Cymru took to the streets of Ebbw Vale to put their words into action and tackle some of the litter that has been piling up along roadsides since the re-opening of a local fast food outlet. Blaenau Gwent candidate in the 2021 Senedd Elections, Peredur Owen-Griffiths has called it a “blight” on the Blaenau Gwent valleys.

Over 3,300 people signed the petition to make it compulsory for fast food outlets with drive through facilities to print car number plates on all packaging so that litter can be traced.

‘Show the public you’re moving as quickly AND safely as possible to lift restrictions’ Plaid urge Welsh Government

Whilst still backing a cautious ‘health-first’ approach, Plaid Cymru have urged the Welsh Government to ‘forever test and challenge’ its own advice, so Wales can lift restrictions as fast as is safe to do so.

Plaid Cymru calls for pressure on fast food outlets to take more responsibility over littering

A sudden increase of littering since the reopening of fast food outlets across Wales has sparked a petition and calls from Plaid Cymru for the Welsh Government to intervene

Launched on 4 June by Plaid Cymru Blaenau Gwent, the petition calls for the government to make it compulsory for fast food outlets with drive through facilities to print car number plates on all packaging so that litter can be traced.

Fast Food Drive-Through outlets should print number plates on all packaging.

Fast Food outlets reopened in Wales on Monday 2 June. Since then we have seen an increase in the litter dumped in our communities after visits to the drive-through. 

People should use the bins provided or take their litter home. Throwing it out of the car is not acceptable.

Plaid Cymru have seen the biggest rise in support for voter intention for the Senedd elections next year a new poll has revealed.

The latest Wales Barometer Poll for ITV Cymru Wales and Cardiff University shows support for Plaid Cymru increased to 22% - up 3 points, for consistency voting intention and up to 24% in the regional list voting intention - up six points.
