Local Plaid Cymru MSs React to Joint Agreement Proposed with Labour Government

Reacting to the proposed agreement with the Labour Government, Plaid Cymru MSs for South Wales East - Peredur Owen Griffiths and Delyth Jewell - said: “This is a proud achievement for Plaid Cymru. We’ve put many of our manifesto commitments on the table as a result of this proposed agreement with the Labour Government.

“We’ve tried to get them to expand free school provision and childcare from the opposition benches for many years but to no avail. It has taken this agreement for these matters to finally be tangible. Parents across Wales can hopefully look forward to getting a real boost if this deal is supported by the Plaid Cymru membership.

“The child poverty levels are a national scandal in Wales and we are hopeful that these policies will make a real difference in this area. There are also many other policies in there to be proud of such as a national construction company, energy company and efforts to increase local procurement to boost the local economy.

“If Plaid Cymru can achieve this outside of government, imagine what would be possible with a Plaid Cymru-led government?”
